Nigeria Entertainment & Economic Roundtable

Is a policy dialogue and investment summit that provides a robust plattorm for mutually beneficial interface among creative and tourism industry practitioners, policy makers and investors (local and foreign) for purposes of mainstreaming the sectors into Federal and State Governments' economies, sustainable development and shared prosperity.

The 1st edition of The Roundtable was organized by Afrocultour in partnership with the defunct Federal Ministry of Finance Budget and National Planning and Federal Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism whilst Lagos State Government had the honour of hosting it.

COMMUNIQUÉ issued at the 2nd Edition of the Nigeria Entertainment & Economic Roundtable Organised by AfroCultour in Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy on the theme: “Culture and Tourism: Unlocking Possibilities and Locating Pathways to Rapid Economic Diversification” held on Thursday, 17th April 2025, at the Shehu Musa Yar'Adua Centre, Abuja, Nigeria.

Unlocking Possibilities and Locating Pathways to Rapid Economic Diversification

The second edition of the Nigeria Entertainment & Economic Roundtable, convened by Afrocultour in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, brought together representatives of all tiers of government, custodians and administrators of culture, tourism industry leaders, players and investors, creative economy stakeholders and members of the Diplomatic Community.
Anchored on the theme “Culture and Tourism: Unlocking Possibilities and Locating Pathways to Rapid Economic Diversification”, the Roundtable underscored the whole gamut of creative economy and tourism as a vital instrument for accelerated sustainable development, inclusive growth, and national identity promotion.

APRIL

Two Federal Ministries namely, the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development, actively participated. Also in robust participation were the following Departments, and Agencies of the Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy: the Department of Domestic Tourism, the National Council of Arts and Culture (NCAC), the National Film and Video Censors' Board (NFVCB), and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR).

A total of eight States- Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Cross River, Nasarawa, Ogun, Plateau, and Sokoto drawn from the six (6) were in attendance. The Diplomatic Community in attendance included: United States of America, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Ethiopia and Japan.

Nigeria Entertainment & Economic Roundtable (NEER)

Is a policy dialogue and investment summit that provides a robust plattorm for mutually beneficial interface among creative and tourism industry practitioners, policy makers and investors (local and foreign) for purposes of mainstreaming the sectors into Federal and State Governments' economies, sustainable development and shared prosperity.
The roundtable sought to be a platform for a mutually profitable Tengagement between creative and entertainment industry practitioners and their drivers stakeholders on the one part and government (federal & state), on the other part, on the issues of policy, regulatory framework, legal regime, growth and general industry environment which is geared towards generating the requisite critical mass needed to transform the industry (creative, culture, tourism and entertainment) a major revenue earner and significant contributor to Nigeria's gross domestic product (GDP).
